Code added to a page, usually in JSON-LD using the schema.org vocabulary, that labels facts such as product name, price, availability, reviews or business hours, so Google can understand them and possibly show them as rich results.
Example
Meera adds Product structured data to each kurta page with name, price in rupees, availability and image. Google can now read these facts directly instead of guessing.
How you'll hear it
“Our product markup is missing price and availability, so we are not eligible for the product rich result.”
Don't confuse it with
- Rich results: the enhanced listings Google may show. Structured data makes you eligible; it does not guarantee them.
- Meta tags: older tags like meta keywords, which Google ignores.
