The places where your ad can appear. On Meta that means spots such as Instagram feed, Stories, Reels, Facebook feed and Audience Network; on Google Display and YouTube it can mean specific websites, apps or channels.
Example
Meera checks her placement report and sees that Instagram Reels gives her orders at a far lower cost than Audience Network, so she moves budget towards Reels.
How you'll hear it
“Break the results down by placement before we decide the creative isn't working.”
Don't confuse it with
- Targeting: who sees the ad. Placement is where they see it.
- Assets: the pieces of the ad, not where it runs.
