Visits that come to your site from the unpaid results of a search engine, as opposed to visits from ads, social media, email or people typing your address.
Example
In Meera's Search Console, her website got 1,200 clicks from Google's unpaid results in a month. Those are organic visits; the visits from her Google ads are counted separately as paid.
How you'll hear it
“Organic traffic is up, but most of it is people searching our store name, so it is not new demand.”
Don't confuse it with
- Direct traffic: people who type your web address or use a bookmark. Organic traffic comes through a search results page.
