Decoding the Jargon

Evergreen content

Content creationTerm

Content that stays useful and relevant for a long time, rather than being tied to a date, offer or trend. It keeps bringing in readers or viewers long after it is published.

Example

Meera's 'How to pick a kurta length for your height' post still brings enquiries a year later. Her 'Weekend sale ends Sunday' post was useless after Monday.

How you'll hear it

“Make at least one evergreen piece a month so we're not always starting from zero.”

Don't confuse it with

  • Trending content: built for a moment, high short-term reach, short life.
  • Seasonal content: returns each year, such as Diwali looks; useful again, but only at that time.
