CTA

Call to Action

Content creationTerm

The specific instruction that tells the reader what to do next, such as 'Book a trial', 'Message us on WhatsApp' or 'Shop now'. It is usually a button or a closing line.

Example

Meera's Reel ends with 'Tap the WhatsApp button and send your size; we'll hold the piece for 24 hours.' That is a clear CTA: one action, and a reason to do it now.

How you'll hear it

“The post gets views but no enquiries; the CTA is buried in the caption.”

Don't confuse it with

  • CTR: CTR measures how many people clicked; the CTA is the thing you ask them to click or do.
  • Headline: the headline earns attention; the CTA asks for action.

In India: In India a 'Message us on WhatsApp' CTA often outperforms a web form for small businesses, because many buyers prefer to ask questions before paying.
