An automated message, or short series, sent to someone who added products to an online cart but left without paying, reminding them of what they left behind.
Example
A shopper adds a ₹2,000 kurta to the cart on Meera's website and leaves. An hour later she gets an email showing the kurta with a link back to her cart.
How you'll hear it
“The abandoned cart flow recovers more orders when the first email goes out within the hour.”
Don't confuse it with
- Browse abandonment: someone viewed products but never added any to a cart.
- Retargeting ad: a paid ad shown on other sites; the cart flow uses your own email or WhatsApp.
In India: Many Indian shoppers check out with UPI or choose cash on delivery; a cart flow can only reach people who gave an email or phone number and agreed to hear from you before leaving.
