The set of values Google uses to decide whether your ad is eligible to show and where it appears. It takes in your bid, the quality of your ad and landing page, Ad Rank thresholds, the context of the search and the expected impact of assets.
Example
Meera bids ₹12 and a larger chain bids ₹18 on 'designer kurtis Pune'. Because her ad and landing page match that search closely, her Ad Rank can still place her above the chain.
How you'll hear it
“We're losing impression share to rank, so let's fix the ad and landing page before touching the bid.”
Don't confuse it with
- Quality Score: a 1-10 diagnostic Google reports; Google says it is not used at auction time to set Ad Rank.
- Ad position: the result of Ad Rank, not the score itself.
